What is Detty December?
Detty December is the season between mid-December and early January when Nigerians at home and abroad converge on Lagos (and increasingly Abuja, PH and Accra) for back-to-back concerts, parties, festivals and cultural events. It's the busiest and loudest few weeks on the African events calendar.
When does it start?
The unofficial season kicks off mid-December and peaks between 20 December and 2 January. Most flagship events drop tickets by October, so book early or risk paying resale.
